'I Dream in Pink' is the first solo release from the popular kids' virtual world

OCTOBER 1, 2010 -Webkinz®, the original and most successful plush toy with an online world, is today releasing the October Pet of the Month song for sale on iTunes®—with proceeds of sales being directed to breast cancer charities until December 31. Funds will be given to Webkinz Foundation™ for distribution.

'I Dream in Pink' is a bright jazzy melody that was penned by company president and Webkinz creator, Howard Ganz. Howard presented a sketch of the tune to Christian McKibbin who composed the arrangement and produced the song. Howard then put forward the idea of making the song available for downloading as a fundraiser, recognizing that breast cancer is more than a 'woman-only' issue: "Breast cancer affects families, touching the lives of everyone who knows a patient or survivor," he notes. "Children are not immune from the battle against this disease. Webkinz World is enjoyed by members of all ages, and we want to give back some of the support that moms and families have shown us since we launched."

Each month, a different Webkinz pet is designated Pet of the Month. New activations of that pet during the month entitle members to special bonus rewards and additional play opportunities. A monthly 'music video' announces each Pet of the Month—for October, the Pink Poodle.

This massive kids' online world is where members adopt pets, play games, do quizzes, create rooms, earn KinzCash and 'chat' with other members. New experiences, languages, and features are continually added. Webkinz pets were introduced in April 2005 by Ganz, a third-generation family-run business based in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada.

Webkinz Foundation was established by Ganz, to develop programs and donate funds to programs that benefit children worldwide.
