Ganz presents the I Dream in Pink campaign benefiting breast cancer awareness
|
SEPTEMBER 16, 2011 - TORONTO, CANADA. Webkinz World's wide-reaching October 2011 campaign to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer will embrace both virtual and real-world elements. In the U.S., in connection with the campaign, Ganz is proud to donate a minimum of $2 from the sale of each specially-tagged Pink Poodle to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. In Canada, Ganz donated specially-tagged Webkinz Pink Poodles to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, to be sold for $10 at events hosted by the Foundation across Canada, with all proceeds going to CBCF. In a first for the leading kids' virtual world, teen jazz sensation Nikki Yanofsky will record a special version of "I Dream in Pink", available as a free download with purchase of a specially tagged Webkinz Pink Poodle during the month of October. Nikki's recording will additionally be available for sale on Apple's iTunes. "We know children are affected by breast cancer too. Our young members have moms, sisters, grandmothers, caregivers and teachers who have this disease. We can't imagine how it feels for a young child to face this, but we know it helps to play, and to have a soft toy to cuddle. This is what we can do." – Howard Ganz, President. About Webkinz: The original kids’ online world, Webkinz World introduced the concept of web-enabled toys. Webkinz pets combine the timeless fun of plush with the interactivity of the Internet. Members adopt pets, go on quests, enter tournaments, play games and quizzes, and create rooms and ‘chat’. The company’s success allowed the Ganz family to create Webkinz Foundation in late 2007, to develop programs and donate funds to programs that benefit children. |
